Ceiling Fans
Celing Fan was invented in 1882 by Philip Diehl.A ceiling fan does not actually reduce the temperature of the room, but instead circulates the air present in the room.In this way,we get a cooling effect .The motor principle comes into effect in ceiling fans. The law states that whenever a current carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field-it experiences force. As a result of Induction,When an ac supply is provided to the coil,a rotating magnetic flux is developed which induces voltage in the rotor and hence the rotor will rotate. Many households today have ceiling fans inside and outside of them for their magnificent cooling features and the comfort offere by the fans. The fan motor can spin in reverse to pull air up from the ground in winter months. This reverse action takes warmer air from a ceiling and distributes it to lower levels in the room. Thus fans are useful in Summer as well as during Winter.
